It is based on the book series , The Witcher . The series is based upon the same-named book series written by Polish Andrzej SAPkowski. The Witcher is set on a fictional medieval landmass called the Continent. It explores the story of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri. It stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan.
Netflix released the first eight-episode season on 20 December 2019. The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny and other short stories which precede The Witcher’s main saga were the inspiration for this series. Second season, which also consists of eight episodes, and is based on the novel Blood of Elves was released on December 17th, 2021. Netflix announced in September 2021 that it would renew the series. The third season will consist of 8 episodes and be released on July 27 2023. The fourth season will feature Liam Hemsworth as Geralt.
